STARS BRING IN JAKOBSEN

Saturday August 06, 2022
KING’S Lynn are delighted to announce the signing of Danish star Frederik Jakobsen for the remainder of the 2022 season.

The 24-year-old previously raced in the UK for Poole in 2018 has become available to the Minors & Brady Stars following the conclusion of his Polish Ekstraliga campaign on Friday.

Jakobsen’s average with the Pirates was 5.04 and this means he slots into the King’s Lynn team at reserve, with his debut to come at Sheffield on Monday.

He has enjoyed a strong season at the top level in Poland with Grudziadz, averaging over six which is on a par with the likes of Jack Holder, Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Pawel Przedpelski.

Stars manager Alex Brady said: “Our season really has to kick into gear on Monday, we can’t afford any slip-ups from here on in.

“Frederik was keen to join us and we’re delighted to get the deal over the line with still a decent number of meetings remaining.

“It means we have an Ekstraliga rider coming in at reserve with the potential for me to give him seven rides, and that gives us a good opportunity.

“I didn’t want the season to just meander on, I want to give us the best chance to try and break into those play-offs.

“We know it’s going to be a big ask and we know we’re going to need near-on perfect results to get there, but I certainly didn’t want to die wondering!”
