KING’S Lynn performed last-heat heroics to snatch a 45-45 draw against Leicester at Beaumont Park.

After forcing a heat 15 decider with a determined display, the Roger Warnes Transport Stars earned two valuable Elite League points in dramatic circumstances.

Young gun Robert Lambert pulled off a stunning last-bend blast to snatch second place behind team-mate Niels-Kristian Iversen and give them a 5-1.

Team boss Rob Lyon was thrilled to see his side travel back to Norfolk with a worth reward for their efforts.

Lyon said: “It was absolutely great to snatch a point like that, and what a ride it was from Robert Lambert in heat 15.

“Iversen led from the front, but the ground he made up to snatch second place was remarkable and it was a good result for us.

“We deserved something out of it, there was some fantastic racing and both teams deserve plenty of credit.

“It was a fantastic speedway meeting for the neutral, and we are coming away happy with two Elite League points.”

Grand Prix ace Iversen led by example with a magnificent display, dropping just one point from six rides as he notched paid 17 points.

Lambert also added double figures with a superb performance, whilst Danish racer Mads Korneliussen bagged 9+1 against his former club.

Simon Lambert battled to a vital five points on his first Elite League appearance of the season whilst reserve partner Carl Wilkinson claimed a crucial race win in heat 12.

German youngster Kai Huckenbeck struggled on his first visit to Beaumont Park, but it was nonetheless a strong showing from the Stars to earn their first away points of the season.
