KING'S Lynn gave their play-off hopes a shot in the arm with a dramatic 47-46 win at rivals Coventry.
The Rogers Warnes Transport Stars were three-points to the good going into a nailbiting last heat - and top man Niels-Kristian Iversen crashed out!
But Troy Batchelor proved to be the hero for Rob Lyon's men by making a great start, only to be passed by Bees No.1 Krzysztof Kasprzak - second place was enough, however, as the home outfit needed a maximum.
Said Batchelor: "I knew the pressure was on me after Niels crashed and I made a good start.
"I made a decision to stay on the inside line and that was a mistake late in the race but we did enough for the win which is great.
"It's a team effort and we're all delighted to take the win. It's an important result for our season and we'll just try and keep it going from here and see where we end up."
King's Lynn have gone ahead of Coventry with 23-points and if they can follow it up with a home win on Thursday against Leicester they will be right back in the play-off hunt.
Lyon's men rocketed into a 26-10 lead against a shell-shocked Bees side.
Coventry managed a maximum 8-1 tactical ride and a late rally saw them put big pressure on Lynn.
But Batchelor did the business when it mattered most and the Stars went home happy.
