BIRMINGHAM V YOUNG STARS, PREVIEW

Tuesday August 02, 2016
KING’S Lynn Young Stars boss Dale Allitt has called on his side to maintain their recent good form as they travel to Birmingham on Wednesday (7.30).

The Stebbings Car Superstore side are gearing up for arguably their toughest test of the season against the table-topping Brummies.

But they head to Perry Barr buoyed by a confidence-boosting home win over fellow play-off hopefuls Belle Vue at the Adrian Flux Arena last week.

Allitt is now desperate to see them boost their top four ambitions with another strong showing in the Midlands.

“We're in good form overall and we've started climbing up the table,” Allitt said.

“The play-offs are naturally our aim and it's in our own hands to get us in there at the end of the season.

“We all know the trip to Birmingham is going to be tough but we'll go there with an open mind and I know the lads will give it nothing less than 100 per cent.

“As are Birmingham, we are strong all the way through and we'd love to go there and give them a run for their money.

“In an ideal world, we'll be able to make some good starts and that will help us in our quest for at least one league point.

“This is the first of three meetings in less than a week for the Young Stars and we want to make sure we restore a bit of pride after the thrashing at home to Birmingham earlier in this season.”

Meanwhile, the Young Stars’ trip to Belle Vue has been re-arranged for Friday, August 26 (7.30) at the National Speedway Stadium.
