KING'S Lynn Young Stars ace Shane Hazelden has suffered a broken tibia and fibula following his crash at Kent on Monday night.

The popular reserve crashed out in heat 14 of their 44-39 defeat, causing the meeting to be abandoned due to curfew as he received treatment.

It has now been confirmed he suffered a serious leg injury which will rule him out for the rest of the season - and team manager Dale Allitt admits the news is a big blow

"It's bad news for Shane, and as a club we all wish him all the very best," Allitt said.

"It's a nasty injury which is a real shame for him, and it took the shine off what was a good result for us in the end.

"At the moment our focus is on helping him get the best treatment he can, and then when he's on the mend we'll start looking at our options."
