NLRC PREVIEW

Friday September 16, 2016
KING’S Lynn Young Star Nathan Greaves has declared himself fit to ride in Saturday’s National League Riders’ Championship at Leicester (7.30).

The 18-year-old was forced to withdraw from the British Under-19 Final on Wednesday after aggravating a hand injury in his third outing.

But Greaves says the pain is now minimal and is gearing himself up for a big weekend which also sees the Stebbings Car Superstore Young Stars travel to Mildenhall in the National League on Sunday.

Said Greaves: “After winning my first two rides in the Under-19’s I was confident I could go on and win it.

“But unfortunately I clipped the fence in my third one, caught my hand and had to pull out of the meeting.

“I’m all good now though and I’ve got another chance to show people what I can do in an individual meeting.

“It’s a tough line-up for the NLRC as usual but I’m going there with a positive attitude and there’s no reason why I can’t be in the mix if I make some good starts.”

Cradley captain Max Clegg won the British Under-19 Final on Wednesday and will be one of the front runners for the National League Riders’ Championship too.

2015 Champion Ben Morley is also included in the 16 man line-up as is former Young Star Jake Knight. Ryan Kinsley will be track reserve for the showpiece event.

Admission for the meeting is priced at £16 for adults, £8 for teenagers and children under 12 go FREE!
