BUXTON V YOUNG STARS, PREVIEW

Saturday October 08, 2016
KING’S Lynn Young Stars will go in search of their second away win of the season as they head to struggling Buxton on Sunday.

The Stebbings Car Superstore side have not won on their travels since a hard-fought 48-42 success at Coventry in May.

They have nonetheless put in some encouraging performances and have high hopes of finishing in the top half of the National League table with four fixtures remaining.

They have drafted in experienced racer Tony Atkin to guest for the injured Josh Bailey at No.1, whilst rider replacement will cover for Tom Stokes at No.2.

Team boss Dale Allitt believes they can overcome the National League’s basement club with a strong showing on the road.

Said Allitt: “It’s a strange situation, because the season is pretty much over but we still have to get these last few meetings done.

“Having said that the boys will be going there with the attitude that they always have, which is they want to win and give it their best.

“We can’t take anything for granted, as we saw Buxton beat Eastbourne recently, but we’ll certainly be looking to try and come away with a good result.”

The meeting will be the second part of a double-header and will immediately follow Buxton vs Isle of Wight, which gets underway at 3pm.

BUXTON: Tom Woolley, Ryan Blacklock R/R, Shelby Rutherford, Ryan Burton, Lee Dicken, Lee Geary, Joe Lawlor, William O’Keefe (No.8).
KING’S LYNN: Tony Atkin, Tom Stokes R/R, Ryan Kinsley, Scott Campos, Nathan Greaves, Taylor Hampshire, Lewis Whitmore.
