YOUNG STARS V EASTBOURNE, PREVIEW

Tuesday October 11, 2016
KING’S Lynn Young Stars will host Eastbourne in their final home meeting of the campaign on Wednesday (7.30).

The Stebbings Car Superstore side are looking to end the year on a high and secure a top half finish in the National League.

They will need to be at their best against an Eagles side who have just booked their place in the play-off final.

But Young Stars boss Dale Allitt is keen to restore some pride with a win in front of their home fans.

Allitt said: “It’s a strange time of the season as we’re racing at a time when the major titles have either been won or the main protagonists are known, and unfortunately we’re not one of them.

“We will be racing for pride, preparing properly and doing what we always do with the same routine – maybe it’s a fixture Eastbourne could do without, but we’ll be keen to finish at home with a win.

“Losing Josh (Bailey) with a broken collarbone was one of the big setbacks to our season, but I have to say Jon (Armstrong) has been fantastic as a guest and he gives us so much in the pits as well.”

The clash will be the penultimate meeting of the season at the Adrian Flux Arena, with the club hosting the re-arranged National League Pairs on Sunday (3.30).

KING’S LYNN: Jon Armstrong, Tom Stokes, Ryan Kinsley, Scott Campos, Nathan Greaves, Lewis Whitmore, Taylor Hampshire.
EASTBOURNE: Adam Ellis, Georgie Wood, Ellis Perks, Gary Cottham R/R, Jake Knight, Luke Harris, Charley Powell.
