LOCKE COMPLETES YOUNG STARS

Thursday February 16, 2017
KING’S Lynn Young Stars have completed their line-up for 2017 with the signing of Connor Locke.

The 18-year-old makes the switch from the Rye House Raiders and joins Kyle Hughes, Josh Bailey, Danny Phillips, Ryan Kinsley, Taylor Hampshire and Lewis Whitmore at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Young Stars team manager Scott Campos reckons Locke is a good final addition to his side and feels it is a team who could be dark horses in this year’s National League.

Said Campos: “Connor impressed us towards the end of last season and especially around the King’s Lynn track, he looked very comfortable and confident.

“He’s a three-point averaged rider who we feel can easily build on that figure when he starts riding with more confidence behind him which he should gain from riding our circuit every week.

“He’s a good signing to complete our team and we’re delighted with how things have come together in the end.

“Last season the Young Stars all started on very similar averages, whereas this year we’ve gone slightly top heavier with a few more three-pointers lower down.

“I think our top three in Kyle, Josh and Danny is as good as any in the league and we feel there’s plenty of scope for improvement and progression from the riders at the lower end.

“Danny Phillips and Ryan Kinsley in particular we feel are on bargain averages and Taylor and Lewis showed us glimpses of what they’re capable of towards the back end of last season.

“I think our side will slip under the radar a little but we certainly feel like this could be an exciting season for us.

“I think we could be dark horses for honours this season and we just can’t wait to get going now!”
