RYE HOUSE 50 STARS 42

KING’S Lynn boss Dale Allitt admitted they were left to rue a slow start after slipping to a 50-42 defeat at Rye House on Saturday night.

The Trucks R Us Stars were 12 points down after just four heats but grew into the meeting to come within a whisker of a consolation point.

Allitt conceded they were frustrated to miss out on the chance to add to their SGB Premiership points tally in a tight meeting.
But he has called on them to “regroup and move on” ahead of their mouth-watering clash with Belle Vue at the Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday (7.30).

Said Allitt: “You go into every meeting wanting to win, or at the very least get a point as the next best thing, so we’re obviously disappointed to leave empty handed.

“We got off to a slow start unfortunately and it took us a few races to get to grips with the track. We managed to claw it back bit by bit, and we always felt we were within touching distance, but it just wasn’t quite enough in the end.

“It’s disappointing but it’s only one meeting, and one meeting won’t make or break our season. We’ve just got to regroup and move on ahead of a big meeting against Belle Vue at our place on Wednesday.”

Nicklas Porsing top scored for the Stars with a hard-fought 10+2 point haul, whilst Troy Batchelor also recorded two race wins on his way to paid double figures.

Lewis Rose improved as the meeting progressed to bag a useful 6+1, but heat-leaders Chris Holder and Robert Lambert struggled for race wins whilst reserve duo Kai Huckenbeck and Josh Bailey earned little reward for their determined efforts.

RYE HOUSE 50: Edward Kennett 15, Chris Harris 10, Scott Nicholls 8, Ellis Perks 7+3, Stuart Robson 6+1, Rob Branford 4+1, Davey Watt 0.
KING’S LYNN 42: Nicklas Porsing 10+2, Troy Batchelor 9+1, Chris Holder 8+1, Lewis Rose 6+1, Robert Lambert 6, Kai Huckenbeck 3, Josh Bailey 0.
