WEDNESDAY PREVIEWS

Tuesday May 09, 2017
KING’S LYNN are back in home action for the first time in three weeks when they host Leicester at The Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday (7.30).

The Trucks ‘R’ Us Stars slipped to a 50-40 defeat against Belle Vue that night before missing out at Wolverhampton on Bank Holiday Monday.

But sandwiched in between those results was an important away win at Somerset which gave Dale Allitt’s side three valuable league points.

The Stars’ team manager is expecting an entertaining clash on Wednesday against the Lions and has challenged his riders to up their game to earn a third victory of the season.

Said Allitt: “First and foremost It’s been a frustrating start to the season and it’s going to be good just to get back on home shale.

“This is certainly a wide open league this year and some of the bizarre results we’ve seen in recent weeks such as Belle Vue slipping up at home to Somerset and Swindon beating Poole away prove that.

“So with that said we won’t be taking the Lions for for granted, but this is a meeting we have to get three points from without a doubt.

“Leicester aren’t as weak as some reckon they appear and with the likes of Danny King and Josh Bates they include riders who are always good value for money around King’s Lynn.

“We know we need to be on the top of our game, as is the case every meeting really, because anyone can beat anyone on their day in this league.”

The Stars will be at full strength with Robert Lambert making his first appearance at The Adrian Flux Arena since being crowned British Under-21 Champion a fortnight ago. Meanwhile Kai Huckenbeck returns at reserve after being forced to miss the fixture at Wolverhampton due to German League commitments.

Leicester include reigning British Champion Danny King as well as two time British Under-21 Champion Josh Bates.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, King’s Lynn Young Stars head to reigning Champions Birmingham in the National League.
