KING'S Lynn suffered last heat heartache as they rounded off the 2017 campaign with a 46-44 home defeat to Rye House.

On a night where the Trucks 'R' Us Stars unveiled fans' favourite Thomas Jorgensen as their first signing for 2018, it was the Dane's bike that packed up in a last race decider while in third place, denying the hosts a draw and gifting the Rockets victory.
Team Manager Dale Allitt thanked the club's supporters following their ninth straight loss and reiterated their attentions are already focused on next year.
"I think we deserved to get something out of the meeting in the end but I guess that just sums it up really," Allitt said.

"The team fought back well to edge in front mid-meeting and we looked as if we were on for the win.

"But Robert (Lambert) had problems in Heat 13 and then Thomas' ignition went in the last race.

"It was a very disappointing way to end our season but this has certainly been a year to learn from and then quickly forget.

"Obviously I've been out of action since July with my own health issues, but I'm as determined as anyone to put things right next season.

"The signing of Thomas proved we have already given a lot of thought towards next season and we simply now have to focus on the future.

"It's a great first building block to team planning and we want 2018 to be a year of success and one that's remembered for all of the right reasons.

"We thank our supporters for sticking by us through some very difficult times and I urge everyone to come back refreshed next March because as I've said, we'll be doing everything we can to be at the right end of the table next year."
