MATCH REPORT/THURSDAY PREVIEW

Wednesday April 18, 2018
KING’S Lynn secured their opening win of the season with a dominant 53-37 victory over Belle Vue at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Robert Lambert put in a captain’s performance for the Tru Plant Stars with a 15-point maximum while Lewis Kerr chipped in with 12+1 at reserve as the home side turned the meeting on its head after the interval.

The Tru Plant Stars were leading by two points before the break but three 5-1’s in the space of six heats secured the win.

Kerr was a busy man with no-less than six races on his second debut for the Stars.

He commented: “I am very happy with tonight, I scored 12+1 in the end, and I can’t ask for any better than that really.

“It was a busy night for me because I had six races. There were some good, close races and I am really pleased with how I performed.

“The racing wasn’t easy tonight because all the boys were on it. It doesn’t matter whether you are racing in the Premiership or Championship, all the riders want to win and I am glad that I managed to get a couple of wins to help the team.

“Although some of the races were tight, it was good, clean and hard racing which is exactly what the fans want to see.

“I said before the meeting I hoped to have my gating gloves on tonight and I only really missed one start in my second ride which is really good because it shows that I am sharp.”

The Tru Plant Stars now head to Swindon on Thursday night (7.30) to take on a Robins side who claimed an eye-catching away win at Poole on Wednesday.

Kerr added: “With Swindon winning at Poole, it shows that we are going to have to be on the top of our game when we head to Blunsdon.

"It doesn’t matter whether it’s a track I like or not, I just want to try and keep things the same. I hope I can pack my gating gloves again and we can grab another win.”
