BELLE VUE 43 STARS 47

KING’S LYNN team boss Dale Allitt was delighted with the “fighting spirit” of his team in a fine win at Belle Vue.

Tru Plant Stars roared to a 47-43 win at the National Speedway Stadium thanks to a very solid all-round display in Manchester last night.

The visitors took control early on and despite a stirring fightback from the Aces, King’s Lynn found an extra gear with big guns Niels-Kristian Iversen and Robert Lambert producing the goods when it mattered.

Allitt admitted: “It’s a massive result. We gave away another 5-1 in the first race but came back strong and gained momentum as the meeting went on.

“We seemed to have done that all season. This side simply doesn’t know when to give in, they kept fighting and I’m really happy with that.

“We’ve only lost by a few away from home so far this season and this is a big win. It’s not a statement in my mind, statements are only made at the end of the season.”

Stars were particularly solid against an Aces side who have been in excellent form all season on their Manchester circuit.

Iversen and Lambert were excellent throughout but the form of Michael Palm Toft, Ty Proctor and Lewis Kerr won it.

The killer blow came in a Heat 13 classic. Iversen roared clear but found himself under intense pressure from Kurtz with Lambert steaming under Grajczonek into third.

Then the British Under-21 champ set his sights on Kurtz, blasting under him and then swapping positions twice before finally making it stick on the last lap - and the Stars were in total control at 43-35 - the same Stars pair sealing with a 3-3 in the final race.

BELLE VUE: Tungate 13, Bewley 9+2, Kurtz 9+1, Grajczonek 6, Etheridge 3+1, Drozdz 2+1, Garrity 1.

KING’S LYNN: Iversen 11+1, Lambert 9+3, Palm Toft 8+1, Proctor 7+1, Kerr 6+1, Jorgensen 4, Andersen 2+1.
