WORLD CHAMPION IN TOWN!

Tuesday May 29, 2018
STARS skipper Robert Lambert has hailed World Champion Jason Doyle ahead of his visit to the Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday (7.30).

In-form Lambert is relishing the prospect of locking horns with the Norwich-based Aussie ace when Somerset come to town for a fascinating Premiership showdown.

And he’s said Doyle is automatically the man everyone wants to beat because of the very fact he is World No.1.

“What Jason achieved last October was amazing,” said the Tru Plant Stars racer. “He’s where I want to be in the sport and it’s an amazing achievement.

“He deserved to win it the previous year but injury stopped that, so I was pleased for him when he finally managed to win the title in Melbourne.

“I’m looking forward to him coming to King’s Lynn and everyone wants to beat him, me included, he’s got a target on his back right now.”

Australian international Sam Masters comes in for Niels-Kristian Iversen who is recovering from treatment on his shoulder.

And Lambert said: “It’s good to be back to a full team and we’re pleased to have Sam in the side, hye’s a good rider.

“Our home form has been good so far and we need to keep that going. The ultimate aim is to be there in September and those play-offs.

“We’ve made a better start than previous seasons and although Somerset will test us we are determined to get the three points, especially after losing on Monday at Rye House.

“I hope we see lots of support as well, it’s a great sport we have and we need the fans to come along and get right behind the boys.”
