LAMBERT GUNNING FOR GLORY

Monday June 11, 2018
ROBERT Lambert, King’s Lynn’s brilliant youngster, has got his heart set on a double celebration tonight.

Lambert, who claimed silver alongside Tai Woffinden for Great Britain in the World Championship Speedway of Nations on Saturday, rides in the British Final at Belle Vue’s National Speedway Stadium (7.30).

The Tru Plant Stars racer wants the national title and with that would follow a place in the British Grand Prix in front of over 40,000 fans in Cardiff next month.

He said: “The British Grand Prix is awesome. The atmosphere is electric, and having been there a couple of times before as a reserve I’d love to get a chance to ride the whole meeting.

“Winning the British title is enough in itself, but the chance to get to Cardiff is just added motivation I suppose.

“It’d be something else to put on the CV, a big learning curve for me and another great experience so it’s somewhere I want to be.”

Stars head to Poole on Wednesday when the Premiership resumes with Niels-Kristian Iversen expected back after treatment on his shoulder.
