IPSWICH v STARS, PREVIEW

Sunday May 05, 2019
KING’S Lynn continue their Premiership campaign with a Bank Holiday Monday trip to local rivals Ipswich (2.15pm).

The Poultec Stars already have two points on the board courtesy of a battling 45-45 draw at Peterborough a fortnight ago, and head to Foxhall on a four-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

But they are also aware that the Suffolk venue was the scene of their toughest night of the season so far on opening night when they went down to a 31-59 defeat in the Premiership Supporters’ Cup.

Stars’ fortunes have improved significantly since then, but they will still be aware that Ipswich have been highly impressive at home, with wins over the likes of Belle Vue and Swindon in recent weeks.

Both sides are scheduled to be at full-strength, with Kasper Andersen set to return to the Stars’ line-up at reserve.

The Dane missed last Monday’s narrow home win over Swindon following a crash in his own country, but is set to make his comeback in the Championship for Sheffield on Thursday.

Team manager Peter Schroeck said: “I hope it will be a different story this time at Ipswich, I’d like to think that the guys are in a different frame of mind, because we’re having a good run at the moment.

“I keep saying we haven’t all clicked yet, and it will happen. Whether it’s going to be Ipswich or the next one I don’t know, but it will happen and I’m sure we’re going to have a much better show there than the last time.”

Supporters attending the meeting can also take advantage of a full day of racing with a packed British Youth schedule to follow the Premiership action.

IPSWICH: Chris Harris, Richard Lawson, Danny King, David Bellego, Krystian Pieszczek, Cameron Heeps, Jake Allen.
KING’S LYNN: Robert Lambert, Lewis Kerr, Ty Proctor, Erik Riss, Thomas Jorgensen, Michael Palm Toft, Kasper Andersen.
