KING’S Lynn cast an eye to the future when they stage the latest round of the British Youth Championship on Sunday (2pm).

And club bosses have set admission prices at just £8 in a bid to attract support for the youngsters with children admitted free. A programme / racecard is £2.

It’s a bumper day of racing at the Adrian Flux Arena as the best of British youth is showcased at an important stage of the series, round six.

A total of 34 riders will be competing across the three classes of 500cc, 250cc and 125cc.

The biggest class will be the 125cc, with 20 riders in this class which includes three riders Max James, Ben Trigger and Max Perry who after Sunday will be heading off to Torun in Poland to compete in the FIM European 125cc Youth Track Racing Cup, along with Luke Harrison and Freddie Fox Baron.

Belle Vue Colts star Jordan Palin, who has won all the previous rounds in the 500cc class, will be looking to make it a clean sweep, and his main rival will come from fellow National League Rider Harry McGurk of Cradley.

Also competing in this class is Mickie Simpson who hails from Boston and Development League Riders Gregor Millar, Kai Ward and Archie Freeman.
Alex Goldsborough, 14, who qualified for the final at the Belle Vue Round completes the line up in this class.

It’s a battle of the Sams in the 250cc class, with both Hagon and McGurk already having won a round in 2019, and after Sunday both boys will be heading off to Denmark to compete in the FIM 250cc Speedway Youth World Championship.

Young Lions manager Neil Vatcher said: “I would like to thank Keith Chapman and all at King’s Lynn for making the Adrian Flux Arena available for this round.

“These meetings are very busy with lots of racing to get through and it should be a good day out for the fans.

“We would also like to say how everyone continues to spare a thought for young Sam Norris and his family after his serious injuries sustained in a previous round.

“We look forward to seeing the King’s Lynn fans on Sunday.”
