STARS BOSS RARING TO GO

KING’S Lynn boss Peter Schroeck is raring to go for the new Premiership season.

After joining the Minors and Brady Stars midway through 2019, the German feels the club can go on to bigger and better things this term.

“All the boys are up for it,” said Schroeck. “I am glad to be given another opportunity to lead the Stars again in 2020 and hopefully we can have a successful season.

“We have got a very familiar team to last year which I think all the boys deserved to be a part of after we had the second highest team averages last season.

“We were very unlucky with injuries last term so hopefully if we can keep them all fit and focused then we can show what we can do. We have quite a few riders in there who have got something to prove and they want to put the facts right of what went wrong last year.

“I am quite lucky really with the team I have got with a new boy – Michael (Härtel) in there as well and he is determined to have a good season.

“Some of the boys had a practice at Lynn earlier in the week and it looked very positive. They all tried their new bikes and engines out, and stuff like that. It all came together quite nicely and now we roll on into the new season.”

The Stars go into the new campaign with King’s Lynn-born rider Lewis Kerr taking over the captaincy and Schroeck has no doubt he is the right man for the job.

He added: “It is a big year for Lewis as captain – he had a couple of bad injuries over the last couple of years but in 2019 he had a good run in the Championship and he had a decent season with us.

"He has improved and this year we gave him the captaincy which he thrives on, and I think we’re going to see the best of him.”

The Norfolk outfit will launch the new season with their press and practice on Monday, March 16, at the Adrian Flux Arena.

All media are welcome to attend with team photos and rider interviews taking place between 12pm - 3pm.
Gates will then open for supporters at 6pm with riders out on track between 6.30pm and 8pm, followed by a Q&A session between 8.30pm - 9pm in Champs Bar.
