COOK WANTS STARS RETURN

FORMER Grand Prix racer Craig Cook is the latest King’s Lynn rider to commit to the club next season.

Cook has taken a complete year off after snubbing the opportunity to race in the British Final and feels refreshed and raring to go for 2021.

Speedway chiefs are planning an Easter launch to the new season with an improving landscape thanks to potential vaccines, better weather in the spring and Monday’s announcement of fans returning to sporting arenas.

Cook’s news is a welcome boost to the Minors and Brady Stars who face the prospect of tweaking their team.

So far Cook, Thomas Jorgensen, Lewi Kerr, Erik Riss and Ty Proctor have stated their intention to return to the Adrian Flux Arena.

“I am 100 per cent looking to be back next season,” said Cook. “The team worked fairly well together in 2019 so it will be good if the other boys want to come back too.

“I raced with a few of them before last year, they’re all good guys and I enjoy racing with them all. I look forward to riding with them as we gelled as a team and had a good time.

“It would be even better if we won all the time, but Rome wasn’t built in a day and the team are working to do something about it. Hopefully we’ll get some more wins on the road and it will be an even happier team next year.

“As long as I’m doing my thing and improving it doesn’t matter whether I’m at no.1 or no.5.

“I’m capable of doing more things, but it doesn’t concern me where I ride in the line-up as long as the team is doing well and moving forward.”
