STARS BOSS - WE'LL BE FINE!

Friday December 04, 2020
KING’S Lynn boss Peter Schroeck says his 2021 side will be fired up for a play-off challenge.

Despite serious doubts over whether European Champion Robert Lambert can return, Schroeck is remaining upbeat after five of the team lined-up for this year have all said they want to be back.

Lambert is currently ruled out after signing for a Polish top flight club and their rules only allow him to ride in one more league – and he’s already signed in Sweden.

While there are some twists and turns to come this winter, Schroeck insists the Minors and Brady Stars will be just fine.

Craig Cook last week added his name to the list for next season with Thomas Jorgensen, Ty Proctor, Erik Riss and local boy Lewi Kerr.

“I am really pleased with the team,” he said. “They are all going to come back hungry that’s for sure because they have all got the hunger for riding their bikes again.

“In times like this we all reflect on life a little bit and we suddenly realise what we had, and we realise it wasn’t so bad.

“There are going to be a lot of boys coming back and appreciating what they’ve got so I think it is going to be a good season from that point of view because everyone is going to be enthusiastic and they will want to get going.

“The situation with the remaining two riders is out of our hands while we see what happens around the racing restrictions in Poland, but there is a long time before the season starts so it could work in our favour.”

Growing suggestions hint at young British riders filling the bottom end of teams and there is even a theory on the table regarding six-man teams to combat any potential rider shortage.

Meanwhile the club’s official merchandise including teamwear and face coverings are available to order online in time for Christmas. Head to jaybeadesigns.co.uk for the full range.
