KERR REASSURES FANS

Friday January 08, 2021
KING’S Lynn favourite Lewis Kerr has issued a rally cry to supporters to ‘stay positive’ in the build-up to the new season.

With the country now back in lockdown the Minors and Brady Stars skipper insists brighter times will return to the Adrian Flux Arena this summer.

And he and his teammates will continue their preparations for the 2021 season which is due to start in April.

Kerr said “I know we’re in the middle of the pandemic still but I’m pretty confident that we will be racing and I have no doubts.

“My preparations are going as normal and with the sport’s AGM next week we can all get planning for the start of the season.

“I hope to think that my two-year deal will be carried forward to the start of this campaign, hopefully that is the plan which will be good for me and it will give me security.

“Everyone needs to stay positive; I know I am and I am pretty sure we’ll get some racing in. Just keep positive and we’ll soon be back on track in ’21.”

After coming through the Stars’ ranks there is nothing the Dersingham-based racer wants more than to win silverware for his home town club.

He added: “As well as being captain it would be the icing on the cake to win silverware with my hometown. I have never won the league or anything like that so it would be amazing if we could do that.

“King’s Lynn haven’t won a trophy since their elevation to the top flight so it would be great to achieve that for the first time in their history.

“There isn’t much between the Premiership and Championship now compared to the past. In 2014 we finished joint-top before losing in the play-offs with people getting injured and then the same in ’18.

“We have shown we can compete at that level, and hopefully this year we can go one step further by winning it!”
