BIG WEEKEND FOR BRIDGER

Friday April 16, 2021
KING’S Lynn boss Peter Schroeck says this weekend is a landmark moment for comeback man Lewis Bridger.

Bridger is ready to end his self imposed exile from the sport by racing for the Minors and Brady Stars when the new season finally starts next month.

And after shedding weight during the winter, Bridger returns to the saddle in a private practice session at Eastbourne this weekend.

Schroeck regards the former Great Britain international as a natural talent who retired too soon and is excited by his return in Stars colours.

He said: “Lewis is heading to one of his former tracks where he feels comfortable at Eastbourne which will be good for him.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing him back on the bike as he is one of the most talented riders we have.

“I think now Lewis is a bit older now and a bit wiser, he won’t be playing at it I know that for sure as he’s invested a lot in his machinery with engines and making sure things work for him.

“Lewis is going to go out and just enjoy his first practice so he will realise he can still do it and that’s the thing with our sport, you can lose weight and get fit, but it’s the mental side of it which helps.”

With track preparations now complete at the Adrian Flux Arena, the Minors and Brady Stars are taking bookings for the first practice sessions on April 22 for a maximum of 20 riders across all classes, costing £50.00 each including medical cover.

Sessions will run between from 9am until 1pm and 2pm until 6pm. For more details call 07847 887515.
