BRADY THRILLED WITH FANS' RESPONSE

KING’S Lynn boss Alex Brady is thrilled with the backing of the fans following last week’s announcement of the 2022 team.

A bumper crowd turned out to learn the news that Peter Kildemand, Richie Worrall, Josh Pickering and Jack Thomas have been added to the confirmed starters of Richard Lawson, Thomas Jorgensen and Lewi Kerr.

And although the new season is four months away, Brady is backing his team for a good season.

“Overall it’s been a really good response,” he said. “I think the fans can see that we’ve gone for a solid team throughout, having a strong reserve helps take the pressure off Jack Thomas a bit.

“Having three heat leaders so close in averages means there’s good competition to be number one which creates that spirit and camaraderie which I think will be key for us.

“The fans deserve something to cheer, and hopefully we can deliver that for them.”

He’s also pleased to be able to hand opportunities to Norwich youngster Jake Mulford as the club’s number eight rider in the event of Thomas missing a meeting.

He said: “I’d spoken to Jake as soon as I knew the number eight position was in play for 2022, but had limited information to offer.

“It came about the day before our team announcement, where I spoke to Jake again, and could explain a bit more what it’s all about.

“Jake actually works for Olly Allen in his day job, so Dale and Olly also had a conversation and we all agreed it made perfect sense for him to get that experience, and grow with the team.”

Brady says the evening announcing the team in front of fans was a big success.

He added: “I think it’s important to have that link between the riders/management with the fans and by announcing the team the way we did, it gives it that more personal feel for all parties.

“It’s also good to be able to explain things that perhaps otherwise are left unanswered.”
