RIVAL KING JOINS KERR PARTY

Friday January 07, 2022
LEWIS Kerr is stepping up plans for his testimonial at King’s Lynn in March with big rival Danny King joining the party.

King, a firm favourite at Ipswich, has been a thorn in Lynn’s side but is more than happy to join Chris Harris, Peter Kildemand and Niels-Kristian Iversen on Sunday March 20 (4pm).

Kerr is also expected to add further names from the new-look Stars line-up for the 2022 campaign.

“Danny is someone I get on really well with and have a lot of respect for him,” said Kerr.

“We had one season in the same team at Newcastle a few years back and built a relationship up from there.

“To win a British title is not an easy thing to do and that night Danny did it would have been a special moment for him in such difficult conditions as well. I think he has a lot to offer the sport still and can beat anyone on his day.

“He had a great season last season at Poole in the Championship and I’m sure will be just as competitive in 2022.”

On Chris Harris, Kerr added: “Having Bomber is great for me. We rode together one season up at Glasgow and Bomber does what Bomber does.

“He is a true fans favourite and never gives up. All the supporters like him no matter who they support and he will be there to win my meeting I have no doubt.”

Work on the fixture list will continue now the festive break is over with the Minors and Brady Stars facing Ipswich and Peterborough in their League Cup group meetings before heading into their Premiership schedule.

They also have to schedule in a round of the Premiership Pairs competition with each of the top flight clubs hosting a meeting.
