KING’S LYNN slipped to their heaviest defeat of the season at Wolverhampton as they were beaten 65-25.

After more competitive displays in recent weeks, this was certainly a night to forget for the MacInnes Stars who were dominated by an in-form Wolves side who maintained their 100 per cent home record.

King’s Lynn, without top two Artem Laguta and Michael Palm Toft through injury, conceded ten 5-1s in a fixture where guest Nick Morris picked up their only three race wins of the night.

New team manager David Hoggart was encouraged by how his riders worked together in the pits - but was, naturally, disappointed that things didn’t transpire out on track.

“We lost a few workshop points in the early races but they haven’t stopped working all night,” he said.

“Every race they came in, they’ve tried something else but in a nutshell the bikes were too powerful for this track.

“The guys rode their hearts out and it wasn’t for a want of trying.

“What we need to do is keep everyone working together, pulling together, hopefully I can bring some stability through to the end of the season and if the guys can start enjoying their Speedway again, they’ll start scoring points again.”

King’s Lynn are back in Sports Insure Premiership action when they host Sheffield on Thursday, July 6 (7.30) at the Adrian Flux Arena.

In the meantime, Nicolai Klindt and Thomas Jorgensen, along with Rising Star Anders Rowe, will represent the MacInnes Stars in the Premiership Pairs at Leicester’s Pidcock Motorcycles Arena this Thursday (June 29, 7.30).
