MONDAY PREVIEW - STARS V SHEFFIELD

Sunday April 21, 2024
KING’S LYNN welcome reigning champions Sheffield to the Adrian Flux Arena on Monday (April 22, 7.30 pm).

The two met in South Yorkshire on Thursday where the injury-hit PSH Environmental Stars endured a tough ROWE Motor Oil Premiership outing.

They will again be without Niels-Kristian Iversen and Benjamin Basso but have booked two guests to bolster their chances against the Tigers.

Former British Under-21 Champion Tom Brennan is again called upon after his nine point score against Sheffield on Thursday alongside Richard Lawson who rode for the Stars in 2021 and 2022.

Rob Lyon’s side are still searching for their first win of the new campaign and whilst acknowledging the size of their task against the Tigers, he hopes his riders can build on the plus points from their 48-42 defeat to Belle Vue last time out in Norfolk.

“We’re starting to get meetings under our belt now and that means we should start getting more settled into the season,” Lyon said.

“We need to forget about what happened on Thursday and regroup as a team and as a club.

“The riders know they need to try and put things right and we’ll see how we go.”

The visitors include two former World Champions in Tai Woffinden and Chris Holder whilst his brother Jack is the current World No.4. Former Stars Josh Pickering and Jason Edwards are also involved.

KING’S LYNN: Tobiasz Musielak, Tom Brennan, Richard Lawson, Michael Palm Toft, Vadim Tarasenko, Patryk Wojdylo, Anders Rowe.
SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Kyle Howarth, Chris Holder, Josh Pickering, Tai Woffinden, Jason Edwards, Dan Gilkes.
