KLINDT ALL SET FOR STARS RETURN

Friday April 26, 2024
NICOLAI Klindt is ready to kickstart his season as he heads back to King’s Lynn next Thursday.

The Danish ace agreed a deal to rejoin the PSH Environmental Stars earlier this week, and he will make his first appearance in the home clash with Birmingham on May 2.

It comes as a welcome boost for the Stars, who have once again been beset by injuries and associated issues during their early fixtures the season.

But after a promising display at Oxford on Thursday, where they lost by only four points in a meeting which would have been even closer but for a Heat 12 decision which went against Niels-Kristian Iversen, they will be confident of getting things right at home.

Klindt should be able to assist with that, given his form at the Adrian Flux Arena last season, where he recorded a series of big double-figure scores.

He said: “King’s Lynn is a place I enjoy riding at, it’s a good club, and the fans there are great -even though we didn’t win many meetings in the last couple of years, they were still supportive!

“We did our best last year, and I really enjoyed it on a personal note. I turned my season around and I think I had only two meetings out of the last ten when I scored below 12 points.

“So I’m looking to kick off on a track that I know, and start off strong when I come in for my first meeting against Birmingham.

“When I joined them in ’22 I started off pretty well at home, and I know I can ride the place well.

“I have a good relationship with Buster (Keith Chapman) and the track guy from the last few seasons, so I know what to expect, and I’m also really looking forward to working with Rob Lyon.

“It’s a long time since I’ve worked with him, other than the two meetings that he came in for last year, and I think it’s definitely going to benefit me personally, because he’s one of the best team managers in the league.”

Klindt’s return comes at the start of a busy run of fixtures for the Stars in the first half of next month, as they also race at home to Leicester on May 9 and have away trips to Ipswich (May 6) and Birmingham (May 13).
