STARS BOSS PRAISES TEAM

BOSS Rob Lyon praised a collective effort as King’s Lynn picked up their second away win of the season at Birmingham.

The PSH Environmental Stars wrapped up victory with a race to spare before the hosts took a consolation 5-1 in Heat 15 to see the score finish 46-43 in the Norfolk outfit’s favour.

Guest Norick Blodorn, captain Niels-Kristian Iversen, Rising Star Anders Rowe and No.1 Jan Kvech all picked up two race wins apiece whilst reserve Lewis Kerr took the flag with a match winning ride in Heat 14 as well as being involved in a crucial early 5-1 in Heat Two.

Patryk Wojdylo was the only Stars man unable to record a race win, but he still managed three vital points despite finding things difficult away from the Adrian Flux Arena this term.

A mixture of Lyon’s tactics and the riders’ efforts meant they also covered Benjamin Basso’s outings with eight points from Rider Replacement.

And after a disappointing display at Oxford last time out, Lyon was much happier with their response this time around.

“It was a terrific effort from all the boys, they all played their part,” he said.

“Rider Replacement worked for us and I was really proud of them, they put a good shift in again.

“I said I didn’t want a repeat of Thursday (away to Oxford) when we were 18 down after seven and there was a different game and I was really pleased with it.”

A run of four quickfire home fixtures for the PSH Environmental Stars gets underway this Thursday (August 22, 7.30pm) when they host Oxford at the Adrian Flux Arena.

BIRMINGHAM 43: Freddie Lindgren 12+2, Tom Brennan 12+1, Zach Cook 7, Wiktor Lampart 5, Michael Palm Toft 4+2, Leon Flint 3+1, Piotr Pawlicki 0.
KING’S LYNN 46: Niels-Kristian Iversen 10+1, Norick Blodorn 10+1, Anders Rowe 9, Jan Kvech 8+1, Lewis Kerr 6+1, Patryk Wojdylo 3, Benjamin Basso R/R.
King’s Lynn win the aggregate point 103-76
