KING'S Lynn open up a busy run of home matches when they host Oxford in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership on Thursday (7.30pm).
The PSH Environmental Stars were boosted by their excellent win at Birmingham on Monday, which ensures they cannot finish bottom of the table and they can still chase down their next opponents.
Oxford have been in and around the play-off picture all season but a lack of aggregate points has proved costly, and their defeat at Leicester on Monday ensured the Lions will finish in the top four.
The Spires are not quite mathematically out of the running at this stage, but in all likelihood they will be by Thursday night regardless of what happens at the AFA, as Belle Vue need only one more point to be sure of finishing above them, and they are highly likely to secure that as they visit Ipswich with a big lead on aggregate.
But the Stars have their focus on a strong end to the season with four home fixtures to come over a 12-day spell, offering the potential for plenty of points to be gathered.
And Thursday's meeting sees them track one of their most popular guests with Leicester's Richard Lawson filling in for Nicolai Klindt in the No.5 berth.
Elsewhere the Stars are unchanged in personnel from their victory at Perry Barr, with Lewis Kerr making his official home return at reserve, alongside Anders Rowe whose form in the Rising Star berth continues to be most impressive.
Rowe said: "We’ve had a real up and down season with injuries and things like that.
“But now with the team we’ve got, we’ve got a good atmosphere and everything, it’s a good bunch of guys who all work together and it’s good fun.
“Everyone at King’s Lynn, including the fans, hasn’t had the easiest of seasons so we want to do as well as we can, try and put on a good show and win as much as possible.”
Thursday's meeting is followed by home matches against Belle Vue and Sheffield next week (Wednesday and Thursday).
And Lynn are also staging the third round of the FIM Flat Track World Championship at the AFA on Saturday (7pm).
