KING’S Lynn kick off a busy week on the road with a trip to champions Belle Vue in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership on Monday.
The PSH Environmental Stars have two away matches in the north in the space of 72 hours as they also visit Sheffield on Thursday.
First up in Manchester is the return fixture of last week’s dramatic encounter at the Adrian Flux Arena when the Stars were left to reflect on three moments of extreme mechanical misfortune resulting in them losing the match 46-44.
The Aces, too, have already suffered a reverse on their own circuit this season as their opening night saw them lose out to Ipswich in the KO Cup.
But the National Speedway Stadium is historically a tough venue for away sides, and Stars will be looking to their former Belle Vue rider, Ben Cook who won the title with the Aces last year, to be the provider of some inside knowledge.
The Lynn riding order reverts to the line-up which won at Oxford in the KO Cup last month with Richard Lawson going at No.2, whilst Jan Kvech returns to No.5 allowing Danish duo Nicolai Klindt and Niels-Kristian Iversen to team up in the middle order.
Chris Harris remains at reserve for the month of April, which means weather permitting he has at least four more matches in that position including home fixtures against Leicester and Oxford.
And Harris goes into the meeting on a high after a brilliant victory on Sunday in the Championship League Riders’ Championship at Scunthorpe – slicing between Kyle Howarth and Steve Worrall to win the Final in trademark style.
Manager Rob Lyon said: “I’m quite encouraged so far by how solid it is, and how the boys are performing generally as a team.
“Yes, there are individual performances that are a little in and out, but we expected that because that’s the way the team is built.
“It’s good enough to compete, that’s the main thing, so we move on to Belle Vue and see if we can get a result. We want to do the same thing to them as they did to us.”
