STARS RETAIN KVECH FOR '26

Tuesday December 23, 2025
KING'S Lynn's hugely popular Czech charger Jan Kvech will be back with the club for the 2026 Premiership season.

The 24-year-old was an exciting capture for the PSH Environmental Stars midway through the '24 campaign and stayed on for a full term this year.

He continues to regard racing in the UK as important for his overall development as a rider, and there's no doubt he is a crowd favourite at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Kvech ended 2025 with an average of 6.91, with many of his best moments coming in matches against local rivals Ipswich.

He piled up 18+2 from seven rides at reserve in a 51-39 win over the Witches in mid-June, but the next derby clash in July proved even more remarkable as an injury-depleted Stars won 46-44 with Kvech scoring 18+1 in the No.5 position where he rode in four of the last six races.

Kvech has spent the last two seasons gaining top-level experience in the Grand Prix series, and reclaiming his position via the various qualifying routes will also be a target next year.

Team manager Rob Lyon said: "Having Jan back was a no-brainer for us. He loves being at King's Lynn, he loves racing in the UK and we've got to encourage that.

"Given how much he wanted to be here, he was pretty much nailed-on to be back with us next season.

"Without a shadow of a doubt he could become a top heat-leader for us, and I do expect big things from him.

"He's had his apprenticeship in British Speedway with a couple of years over here learning the tracks, and hopefully now he's going to kick on and be that top-end rider that we all know he's capable of being."

Kvech joins Chris Harris as a confirmed starter for the Stars in 2026, and the club expect to be able to announce further news over the festive period.
