LOCAL youngster Jody Scott will complete the King's Lynn team for 2026 having been named as Rising Star.
The 18-year-old captained the Young Stars to the National Development Trophy title last year, and now he gets a full-time Premiership team place for the first time.
And he will form a hugely exciting, not to mention youthful, reserve combination for the PSH Environmental Stars with fellow crowd favourite Cooper Rushen, who turns 16 in March.
The five confirmed Premiership clubs for this season all made their Rising Star selections during this week's AGM, with Scott the choice of Lynn bosses after enjoying a breakthrough campaign last year.
As well as dominating in the third tier, he impressed greatly after joining Redcar in the Championship, helping the Bears to win the BSN Series in a dramatic Final at Poole, whilst also gaining some top-flight experience with occasional appearances for the Stars after the retirement of Ashton Boughen.
Now he can't wait to take the opportunity of lining up alongside and against the top men on a regular basis in 2026.
Scott said: "I'm really buzzing for the opportunity and I just can't wait to get going now.
"It's my hometown club, I was born in King's Lynn and I've been a fan since 2017 when I was 11 years old, and then I was the mascot in '21 and '22.
"To be a Young Star last year and now obviously a King's Lynn Star this year is a dream come true for me, and I can't wait for it to happen.
"I just want to say thank-you to Rob (Lyon), Buster (Keith Chapman) and Dale (Allitt) for giving me the chance and for sticking by me all these years.
"They gave me a chance in the Premiership last year, I loved every minute of it and it was a no-brainer for me to accept this year."
Co-promoter Dale Allitt has paid tribute to the efforts of both Scott and Luke Harrison, who both took on senior meetings with the Stars last year.
Harrison was not on the initial list of Rising Stars declared across the league in 2026 but he does have a Championship place with Scunthorpe and it would be no surprise if further opportunities opened up for him.
Allitt said: "It's great to be able to able to bring in Jody, who's another local lad with plenty of sponsorship around here, and he was captain of the Young Stars last year.
"Both Jody and Luke did some meetings for us in the Premiership when neither were able to fully commit because of it being somewhat last-minute, and we felt they both did themselves proud.
"Jody being locally based definitely played a part in the decision, but had the points limit been different there's no doubt we would have worked with Luke as well.
"Luke and his father were both brilliant when they came in, and the door isn't closed by any means as to them being with us in the future.
"But overall this is such an exciting-looking team from Max (Fricke) at the top all the way down to two local youngsters in Cooper and Jody at reserve, and we can't wait to get going now."
STARS 2025: Max Fricke, Jan Kvech, Chris Harris, Ben Cook, Paco Castagna, Cooper Rushen, Jody Scott.
