STARS SUNK BY IPSWICH WIN

Monday September 14, 2026
KING’S Lynn’s Premiership play-off hopes have been effectively dashed by an Ipswich away win at Leicester on Monday.

The Witches defeated the Lions 48-42 at the Hydroscand Arena to inflict the first home loss of the season on the East Midlands side.

Had Ipswich been beaten in that meeting, or even just taken the aggregate point, they would have been within range of the PSH Environmental Stars who race their final match at Northampton on Thursday.

Now Ipswich cannot be caught and Lynn find themselves three points behind Sheffield, who complete their programme at home to Northampton on Wednesday.

However, even if the Tigers suffer a shock defeat in that meeting and the Stars go on to win at Northampton to go level on 23 points, there is still a huge race points difference of 71 in the Tigers’ favour which means only an unprecedented pair of results will change the picture.

There is track action at the Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday when the Young Stars host Leicester and then Middlesbrough in a WSRA NDL double header.
