STARS 50 BELLE VUE 40

Thursday June 30, 2016
KING’S Lynn resurrected their Elite League play-off hopes with a hard-fought 50-40 victory over high-flying Belle Vue at the Adrian Flux Arena.

After seeing their top four ambitions dealt a major blow with a home defeat against Coventry last week, the Roger Warnes Transport Stars roared back to winning ways in tremendous style.

It was a confidence-boosting performance from the Norfolk outfit as they avenged a 54-39 defeat against the Aces on home shale back in March.

Team manager Rob Lyon was full of praise for his side after they responded to their struggles with a convincing display.

"It was a great result and exactly what we needed," said Lyon. "The boys responded perfectly to the rallying call, they showed a lot of spirit and it was a very pleasing performance.

"It was a tough meeting, but we battled hard and I thought we deserved the win. We needed those three points, so we are very pleased we managed to come out on top."

No.1 Niels-Kristian Iversen dropped just one point with a classy display, whilst Aussie ace Troy Batchelor stormed back to top form with three wins from his four rides.

Teenage star Robert Lambert also impressed to bag double figures and form a powerful top three, plus Lewis Rose recorded two race wins as he stepped up to the main body of the side.

Down at reserve, Simon Lambert notched a crucial contribution – and despite Danish duo Mads Korneliussen and Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen struggling to make an impact they emerged with a much-needed victory.

A full preview for Friday's return fixture at the National Speedway Stadium will be issued on Friday morning.
