YOUNG STARS 55 BELLE VUE 35

Wednesday July 27, 2016
JOSH Bailey struck a stunning 15-point maximum to lead King’s Lynn Young Stars to an impressive 55-35 win over Belle Vue at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Teenage ace Bailey put in a stunning display in the No.1 race jacket to ensure the Stebbings Car Superstore side emerged victorious in their first meeting in three weeks.

Although Bailey, 18, was the star of the show, it was another encouraging all-round team performance from Dale Allitt’s side to boost their National League play-off ambitions.

And Allitt was full of praise for his side following a convincing display against a Colts side also in the mix for a top four spot.

Said Allitt: “Belle Vue are another one of our rivals in the race to make the play-offs, and we beat them fairly comfortably in the end which was brilliant.

“They were slightly weakened by Lee Payne not riding, but everyone rode really well to make sure we got the result.

“Josh got a 15 point maximum and was fantastic, but they all chipped in with important points. It was nice to see Lewis Whitmore get paid seven and Shane Hazelden get back in the points.

“There were a lot of positive signs, so it gives us plenty of confidence moving on to our next meeting.”

Nathan Greaves bagged double figures in the No.5 spot, whilst Hazelden and Tom Stokes made excellent contributions as the home side recorded nine race wins.

Lewis Whitmore, Scott Campos and Ryan Kinsley also made solid contributions as the Young Stars claimed a resounding win in what many were predicting would be another tight encounter.

After giving their confidence a major boost and moving within five points of the all-important top four, Allitt’s side will travel to top of the table Birmingham next Wednesday (7.30) before hosting the Isle of Wight next Friday, August 5 (7.30).
