JORGENSEN MISSES REBELS CLASH

Wednesday May 30, 2018
KING’S LYNN will be without Danish star Thomas Jorgensen for tonight’s (Wednesday) Premiership home fixture with Somerset (7.30).

The 25-year-old has been struggling with a chest infection and has been ruled out of the clash through illness.

Rider replacement will now operate for Jorgensen at No.4 with everyone eligible to take one his outings except guest No.1 Sam Masters.

Tru Plant Stars team boss Dale Allitt said: “Thomas was suffering pretty badly at Rye House on Monday and was officially withdrawn following his spill in Heat 14.

“He physically couldn’t hold on to the bike and illness wise he got progressively worse as the night went on.

“He’s been on antibiotics but he’s still not fit enough to take his place tonight unfortunately.

“We wish him a speedy recovery but in the meantime we have to focus on the fixture with Somerset.

“We’ve been going well at home this season but we know it’s going to require another solid effort to continue that run.

“It’s not going to be easy because Somerset have got some capable riders, including the World Champion Jason Doyle.

“So hopefully the fans will turn out in big numbers and give our riders plenty of support on another big night for the Stars.”

KING’S LYNN: Sam Masters, Michael Palm Toft, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen R/R, Robert Lambert, Kasper Andersen, Lewis Kerr.

SOMERSET: Jason Doyle, Jake Allen, Charles Wright, Jack Holder, Richard Lawson, Ryan Kinsley, Bradley Wilson-Dean.
