ROBERT READY FOR CARDIFF

Friday July 20, 2018
ROBERT Lambert is ready to make the most of his appearance in the British Grand Prix at Cardiff on Saturday.

The Brilliant King’s Lynn youngster, who has won a long line of individual honours this season, qualified by taking the British title in Manchester last month.

He’s been at Cardiff in front of 40,000 fans before – but only as reserve.

Said Lambert: “Cardiff is a great experience. It’s definitely my favourite race and meeting of my career so far, even above the British Final.

“To sit there with my kevlars on and be in the event was awesome. Just to be there as reserve was a great opportunity for me.

“I just remember waiting on the back straight with all the lights off waiting to be introduced to the crowd. It was like nothing I’d done before and then I was announced first because I was a reserve.

“The noise just hits you like nothing else and there were just Union Jacks as far as the eye could see. It gives me goosebumps now just thinking of it.

“It’s going to be amazing to do that again and be in the meeting proper. I’ll give it all I’ve got.”

Lambert will be back in Lynn colours on Monday when they face Poole at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Jason Garrity will make his debut in place of Lewis Kerr who is out for the season with a broken leg.

However, Lewis will be in attendance and will be available to sign autographs and have pictures taken in the fanzone.
