LAMBERT STAYS IN TOP SIX

Sunday October 01, 2023
KING’S Lynn racer Robert Lambert has booked his place in the 2024 FIM Grand Prix series after completing the current season in sixth place.

With 108 points Lambert exceeded his points total from last year when he collected 103 but finished fifth, as he completed the campaign with a semi-final place in the finale at Torun.

His best performance was second place in the opening round in Croatia and he made one other Final at Vojens, with a consistent season seeing him make the semi-finals in all but two of the ten events.

Meanwhile Belle Vue’s Dan Bewley also dropped one place in the rankings as he finished seventh on 104, meaning he has to wait for the selections for next year’s line-up to be confirmed.

Tai Woffinden (Sheffield) is in a similar position after finishing 11th, having missed the final two GPs of the season due to injury.

Poland’s Bartosz Zmarzlik became a four-time World Champion with victory at Torun, finishing eight points ahead of Fredrik Lindgren of Sweden, with Slovakia’s Martin Vaculik in third place. Jack Holder, who spent much of the season with Sheffield, and Leon Madsen were the other top six finishers overall.
